Leadership comes to people who are in power. However, they should know how to use it. Otherwise, they will be left with no choice but to vacate their seat. I have learnt this lesson the hard way. I was working as a board of director in a small business and was in the leadership position for several years. I used to work in an authoritative manner and made people listen to me. However, I was told that I was causing burnout and resistance among other directors and needed to change. I paid attention to their needs and it helped me achieve my targets.
